OVERVIEW: The BEM 2019 program starts with an icebreaker in the evening of April 3rd. Meeting presentations kick off on the 4th with a plenary talk by an eminent scientist in the field, followed by three concurrent sessions of oral presentations on the 4th, 5th, and 6th. Poster session is in the evening of the 4th and the BEMS AGM in the afternoon of the 5th. The conference wraps up with a banquet and live musical performance by a 10-piece, 100% Newfoundland band in the evening of the 6th (get ready to dance!).
Want to get the feel of Newfoundland’s breathtaking scenery and rich cultural heritage? We’ve got you covered with some time off in the program to enjoy various activity packages in the afternoon and evening of Friday, Apr 5th.
** Oral sessions on Apr 5th will end at 12:00pm, with most activities starting within the following 30-60 minutes **
Lunch is on your own, so please keep that in mind if you need to recharge before your activity starts.
Avid divers wishing to arrive a few days ahead of the meeting will also have the option of diving on famous shipwrecks on Wednesday, Apr 3rd.
